Snowboard Kids 2: Recompiled is now available on Nintendo Switch, in release v1.0.0-switch.1. The port comes from a user named Tzagor, who posted it on r/SwitchPirates. It’s a native port built on the original N64 recompilation project, and it’s their first public release.

The port adds graphics settings, shader caching, and optional overclocking controls. The author says it already plays on real hardware, but performance still needs work. A modest overclock gets it closer to 60 FPS.

You’ll need your own US ROM of the game and a Switch set up for homebrew. The post doesn’t say which firmware or setup is required, so read the README before you start. Installation steps are in there too.

Why care? A native Switch build is a real step. It’s also early. Expect uneven frame rates, and send bug reports to the author, who asked for feedback.

How to try it:

  1. Get your own US ROM and a homebrew-enabled Switch.
  2. Download v1.0.0-switch.1 from the release page.
  3. Follow the install instructions in the README.
