shadPS4 Shows P2P Tests in Resident Evil 6 and Broforce
shadPS4 v0.19.1 WIP videos show P2P sessions in Resident Evil 6 and Broforce. Still early, but online play is the hard part.
The shadPS4 team is showing peer-to-peer play running on its PS4 emulator, built on v0.19.1 WIP. On October 7, 2026, the project’s X account posted two clips, one for Resident Evil 6 and one for Broforce, both labeled as P2P tests.
The posts are short and light on detail. P2P most likely means peer-to-peer online play, but the posts don’t say how it works, which features are covered, or how stable the sessions are. The videos are the whole announcement. There’s no release date, no changelog, and no setup steps yet.
Why should a hobbyist care? Most PS4 emulation talk centers on booting single-player games and frame rates. Online is the harder part. Online games expect the console’s network services and a stable session with other players, and that’s where many projects stall for months. Seeing two different games get a P2P test in the same week suggests the groundwork is moving past single-player. That’s my read, not something the posts confirm.
The replies show where people’s heads are at. One asks how to map touchpad input for InFamous. Another begs the team to fix The Last of Us 1 Remastered. That’s the usual pattern: once a game boots, the wishlist gets longer.
Limitations: it’s WIP, the clips are the only evidence, and none of this means your favorite multiplayer title will work. Watch the project’s GitHub and release notes before you get excited.
