A developer is porting the 2014 tactical FPS Insurgency to the PS Vita, and it somehow runs at a mostly solid frame rate. If you still have Sony’s handheld lying around, you can look forward to a full demake featuring all the weapons, attachments, maps, and audio from the original release.
Performance metrics look surprisingly decent for handheld hardware fighting a tactical shooter. The port runs at a steady 60 FPS in 8 vs 8 and 12 vs 12 matches, dipping down to 40-60 FPS when bumped up to 16 vs 16. Right now, the project is offline-only, featuring a functional bot system to keep things interesting. Multiplayer support is planned for a future update.
